The Public Transport Authority in Kraków took part in this year’s New Mobility Congress in Katowice (23-25 September 2025), presenting innovative solutions as part of the metaCCAZE project.
The New Mobility Congress is the largest conference and EXPO dedicated to sustainable development in transport in Central and Eastern Europe. At the Kraków stand, visitors could see two of the six new cargo bikes that ZTP acquired as part of the EU metaCCAZE project (2 three-wheeled bikes adapted for transporting heavier loads, and 4 two-wheeled bikes – ideal for smaller and lighter parcels).
The bikes on display are part of a larger plan. In the coming months, ZTP plans to launch a multimodal transport hub in central Kraków, in the area of the railway viaduct and the Market Hall on Miodowa Street. The heart of this hub will be a cargo bike transhipment station, which will enable the development of ecological, quiet and zero-emission freight transport within the Second Ring Road.
In parallel with the launch of the hub, data analyses will be carried out to adjust the scale of operations and implement further improvements and innovations. The cargo bikes will be managed using modern IT tools and supported by artificial intelligence, which will enable the organisation of an efficient delivery network – providing an attractive alternative to current costly and burdensome solutions.
metaCCAZE is an EU programme supporting urban intelligent, zero-emission transport solutions, planned for four years. The project is implemented in two stages: first, the proposed solutions – including technological ones – are tested in four “pioneer” cities: Amsterdam, Munich, Limassol and Tampere. Subsequently, the proven concepts are implemented in six partner cities, including Kraków.
Participation in the New Mobility Congress confirms Kraków’s commitment to the development of innovative and sustainable transport solutions that will genuinely improve residents’ quality of life and contribute to environmental protection.
