At HC Linear, we bring over 35 years of experience in making public transportation smarter, more efficient, and better connected.
In October, we participated in one of the world’s most prominent public transport events in Brussels, the Busworld Europe 2025. The exhibition clearly reflected a shared industry direction. The future of urban mobility lies in the intersection of electromobility and data-driven systems. Sessions on Zero Emission Buses and Digital Mobility Solutions emphasized how urgent it has become for cities to reduce carbon emissions and adopt smarter, cleaner transport models.
At our booth, we were proud to showcase our SmartPage e-paper-based passenger information system. Built for solar-powered and sustainable operation, SmartPage delivers real-time updates through a low-energy, paperless solution. Its cloud-based CMS allows operators to manage schedules, announcements, and diagnostics remotely across entire networks with quick and easy installation.
In addition, we highlighted our involvement in the metaCCAZE project. In collaboration with the Miskolc City Transportation Ltd. (MVK) and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), we are developing a digital mobility platform that connects public transit with shared micromobility services such as e-scooters. The goal is to improve citywide access while lowering the environmental impact of daily travel.
As part of this effort, we are also building a mobile application that enables Miskolc residents and visitors to plan their journeys in an intuitive, gamified way. By integrating BME’s activity chain optimization, users can plan routes based on their preferences and visit multiple destinations in the most efficient order, saving both time and money. The application calculates journeys using multiple transport modes and evaluates each leg, as well as the full activity chain, based on travel time, cost, health benefits, and environmental impact. It also considers the opening times of destinations and helps users discover relevant locations along the way.
The development is led by a young, agile team with a strong focus on user experience, energy efficiency, and long-term maintainability. Our mission is to equip cities and passengers with digital tools that make everyday travel both smarter and more sustainable.
With in-house expertise in both hardware and software development, along with our own manufacturing capabilities, we deliver integrated solutions tailored to the evolving needs of urban mobility.
