To support the project’s mission: accelerating smart, zero-emission mobility across European cities, the metaCCAZE project has received the support of its Net Zero Pioneers Advisory Board (NETAB). This high-level panel of independent experts from academia, industry, policy and city administration provides strategic guidance and critical insight into the project. The NETAB was formed and is being managed by TU Delft. Through its coordination and oversight role, TU Delft contributes to the metaCCAZE project by enabling structured feedback across technical, managerial, and research dimensions.
What sets the NETAB apart is its membership: recognised experts in research, industry, public policy and urban mobility who are not directly engaged in project activities. This independence enables fresh perspectives and constructive challenge, helping metaCCAZE anticipate blind spots, draw on cross-sectoral lessons and align with broader European policy frameworks.
Over the past few months, NETAB members have contributed targeted input to support the co-creation and deployment of the innovative solutions now being tested in metaCCAZE’s urban living labs. NETAB members have provided critical inputs and constructive feedback on the ongoing work across various use cases within the Trailblazer Living Labs. Their contributions include practical guidance supporting the deployment of solutions in cities, insights into the project’s managerial aspects, and valuable input on the research activities conducted under the Metainnovation work package. In addition, they have contributed to the design of surveys conducted as part of social embracement activities, aimed at assessing tangible changes resulting from the deployment of solutions.
NETAB in 2026: current work and future plans
Going forward, this year will see increased involvement of NETAB members, with active participation as the project enters the critical phase of on-the-ground implementation of solutions. NETAB members will work more closely in areas aligned with their expertise and interests, enabling a more direct and effective feedback mechanism. The next NETAB meeting is scheduled for February 2026, during which members will provide a fresh perspective on the progress made since the last meeting and jointly define the roadmap for the next phase of this enhanced, hands-on feedback process.
A closer look at the people behind the progress
To showcase the expertise shaping metaCCAZE, the project will soon launch a dedicated social media spotlight series featuring individual NETAB members.
