The NTUA metaCCAZE team proudly took part in Researchers’ Night 2025, the European science outreach celebration held on Friday, 26 September 2025.
Hosted in the NTUA campus at Zografos district of Athens, the event was open to visitors of all ages. The NTUA metaCCAZE team presented two of its “metaInnovations”, offering the public, and especially students from different ages and educational levels, a hands-on experience of cutting-edge research.
Through interactive demonstrations and discussions, visitors discovered how computational creativity, and digital technologies can inspire new ways of thinking, designing, and learning.
Researchers’ Night is organised annually in more than 400 cities across Europe, aiming to bring research closer to society and highlight its impact on everyday life.
This year’s Greek edition filled venues in Thessaloniki, Athens, Larissa, Patras, Heraklion, Rethymno, and Mytilene with experiments, games, performances, and exhibitions.
The metaCCAZE team of NTUA was delighted to meet curious minds, exchange ideas, and share its vision for the future of transportation research and innovation.
Entry was free and open to all, celebrating science for everyone!
More about metaCCAZE Follower City, Athens:
Athens is one of the ten Mission cities participating the metaCCAZE project. Together, they test the potential of zero emission shared mobility solutions in real and diverse urban environments. In Athens, three partner organisations—NTUA, OASA, and the state agency ANAPLASSIS—are collaborating to support the integration of electric mobility, aiming for climate neutrality by 2030.
In the project’s second phase, starting in 2025, metaCCAZE partners will introduce 100 e-buses to the city’s network. By 2026-2027, 525 slow and fast-charging stations will be included. Find out more about Athens challenges and their role in the metaCCAZE project here.
