From 16–22 September 2026, cities across Europe will once again come together for EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK, the European Commission’s flagship campaign for raising awareness of sustainable urban mobility.
Following the success of last year’s campaign, “Mobility for Everyone” remains the theme for 2026, this time with a particular focus on intergenerational fairness. The campaign highlights the importance of mobility systems that work for everyone across different ages, abilities, backgrounds and needs.
This is also closely connected to our metaCCAZE ambitions. Across Europe, our Living Labs are testing and demonstrating innovative solutions to make urban mobility cleaner, smarter, more accessible and more sustainable.
During EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK 2026, several metaCCAZE cities are bringing these ideas directly to their citizens through events, demonstrations and hands-on activities. If you are in one of our cities, come along and join us!
Limassol: Taking back the streets on a Car-Free Day
20 September | Limassol, Cyprus
Limassol will celebrate Car-Free Day by closing selected streets to motorised traffic and opening them to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
For one day, residents and visitors will have the opportunity to experience urban spaces from a different perspective and discover what streets can look and feel like when more space is dedicated to sustainable modes of transport.
Kraków: A week full of sustainable mobility
16–22 September | Kraków, Poland
Kraków is preparing a diverse programme throughout EUROPEANMOBILITYWEEK, with a particular focus on cycling and emission-free urban mobility.
Citizens can look forward to cycling quizzes and games, cargo bike training sessions, a tram parade, workshops for teachers, activities at the Clean Air Centre, a transport picnic and educational classes at the Kraków Centre for Climate Education. Participants will even have the opportunity to test their skills in a tram simulator.
The week will conclude with a Car-Free Day on 22 September, when selected streets will be closed to motorised traffic and dedicated to pedestrians, cyclists and public transport.
Milan: Citizens shaping the future of mobility
📅 16–22 September | Milan, Italy
In Milan, MobiDays will put citizen participation in the spotlight. An exhibition at the castle will showcase the city’s participatory process and invite visitors to explore how citizens can contribute to shaping the future of urban mobility.
The activities demonstrate an important part of the transition towards climate-neutral cities: new technologies and mobility services need to go hand in hand with the people who will ultimately use them.
Poissy: Discover metaCCAZE and its mobility innovations
📅 17 September | Poissy, Yvelines, France
Want to find out what metaCCAZE is bringing to Poissy? On 17 September, a public event on the forecourt of Poissy station will give citizens the chance to discover the project and learn more about the innovative mobility technologies being prepared for the city.
Visitors will also get a first look at the upcoming testing phase, in which volunteer users will have the opportunity to get involved and experience the solutions themselves.
