On 11 May , this year coinciding with Mother’s Day, —our Trailblazer City Munich proudly participated in the Europa-Rad initiative, a symbolic event held at the Umadum Ferris wheel in Munich as part of the Europe Day celebrations. For two hours, representatives of the city took to the skies in a dedicated gondola to introduce the metaCCAZE project to the public and highlight its European dimension.
During this special event, Munich showcased its commitment to climate resilience and smart urban development . The city’s representatives presented their two key use cases under development within the metaCCAZE project:
- Smart Delivery Zones: Implementing dynamic curbside management systems to optimise the use of public space for loading and unloading, thereby reducing congestion and improving traffic flow.
- Development of a Large-Scale Bike Logistics Hub: Establishing a centralised facility that supports the use of electric cargo bikes for last-mile deliveries and other business services, promoting sustainable logistics practices.
Beyond the technical insights, the event was also an opportunity to underline the value of european cooperation. Munich emphasised the importance of exchange and mutual learning with other European partner cities participating in the project.
