The Public Transport Authority in Kraków has expanded its fleet with 6 modern cargo bikes as part of the EU’s metaCCAZE project. During Earth Day (April 27, 2025), the official first presentation of the equipment took place, during which even the Mayor of Kraków rode one of the three-wheelers. In the future, these bikes will form part of the equipment for a transport hub that is planned to be established near the Market Hall.
The Public Transport Authority in Kraków continues its efforts toward zero-emission transport and sustainable urban mobility. As part of the metaCCAZE project, we acquired 2 three-wheeled bikes adapted for carrying heavier loads, and 4 two-wheeled bikes – ideal for smaller and lighter shipments. In the coming months, we would like to launch a multimodal hub, with a transshipment station for such cargo bikes at its heart. Simultaneously, data analysis will be conducted to adjust the scale of this operation and implement further efficiency innovations.
More about our Follower City Kraków:
As part of metaCCAZE, an innovative transport hub will be created in the center of Kraków, including a new cargo bike station near the railway viaduct and Miodowa Street. This will enable the development of environmentally friendly, quiet, and zero-emission freight transport within the Second Ring Road. The cargo bikes will be managed using modern IT tools and supported by artificial intelligence, which will help organize an efficient delivery network – an attractive alternative to the current costly and burdensome solutions.
