A new video published by ITS Factory, a key supporter of the Tampere Living Lab, showcases how Tampere is advancing connected, automated and zero-emission mobility within the metaCCAZE project.
As one of metaCCAZE’s Trailblazer Living Labs, Tampere serves as a real-world testing ground where cities, researchers and industry partners co-create and validate innovative mobility solutions. The video highlights Tampere’s strong ecosystem, supported by ITS Factory as an open innovation and testing environment for Intelligent Transport Systems. In November 2025, metaCCAZE launched Finland’s first commercially operated automated bus route. The service, provided by Nysse (Tampere region public transport authority), uses an OHMIO LIFT vehicle, equipped with advanced LiDAR and camera systems.
The video features Tampere’s work on connected and automated public transport, including electric automated buses operating on existing public transport routes, demonstrating how digital and low-emission mobility can be safely integrated into everyday city life.
Through the Tampere Living Lab, metaCCAZE is generating valuable insights to help other European cities accelerate the transition towards smarter and cleaner transport systems.
