Miskolc has taken another step towards smarter and more sustainable urban mobility with the launch of the new MobilON+ application and the inauguration of a modern Smart Point at the Tapolca junction. Developed within the framework of metaCCAZE, the use case strengthens the connection between public transport and micromobility services such as bicycles and e-scooters.
A key element of the new mobility hub is the installation of new bicycle racks and e-scooter parking facilities, making it easier for passengers to combine public transport with active and shared mobility options for the first and last mile of their journeys. The hub also features a solar-powered smart bench offering free Wi-Fi, USB and wireless charging, digital information displays, and real-time environmental monitoring.
At the same time, Miskolc has launched the next generation of its journey planning application, MobilON+. Available for both Android and iOS devices, the upgraded app introduces multimodal route planning by integrating e-scooter transport alongside public transport options. Users can also benefit from real-time vehicle tracking, live traffic information, map-based filtering, and personalised favourites for routes and stops.

What makes the solution particularly innovative is the close connection between the physical infrastructure and the digital platform. Data from MobilON+ and the Smart Point are shared across the system, providing passengers with more accurate travel information while helping the city better understand traffic patterns and environmental conditions.
Through these developments, Miskolc continues to support its climate-neutral ambitions and demonstrates how digital services and smart infrastructure can work together to create a more connected, convenient and sustainable urban mobility system.
